Whatever Remains

The remnants of the night tend to linger in my clothes;

the scent of liquor won’t leave my vest,
nor will that girl’s perfume, who was trying her best
my favorite shirt still smells of cigarette smoke,
or the drunken breath of the older bloke
the unsynchronised beats of the music failed to entice me
no sweat seeped into my skirt, I didn’t set myself free
nor did I get lost in the ogling man’s eyes,
turning him down was his most unpleasant surprise
I didn’t come close to anyone’s lips,
that reeked of mistakes and unfortunate slips
I went home with a friend, who remained by my side
kissed him good night, let everything else slide

And the following morning, when only memories remain
I can wash out the proof of their existence, though to me, it’s all the same
Because at least I can make all these disappear,
while you, I cannot
you are always right here
in my mind, never to be forgot

The Reason Why

babies cry
because they know
what awaits them in
this life

babies cry
because they know
the labor they will go
by force

babies cry
because they know
that if they do not
shed tears now
they will shed
too many

babies cry
because they know
of unhappiness to
far too little

babies cry
because they know
of all the misery
heading for
no way out
but death

babies cry
because they know
there is no
in this world

babies cry
because they know
and only stop
because they forget

Testimony Time.

Someone message me last Thursday, and told me that their friend was about to be taken from life support. Life support is what they give to people in comas that are brain dead and probably won’t come back to life. The life support helps them to breath. If they don’t have it the will die. The guy’s family was going to take him off of it because they didn’t have enough money to keep him in it. So when my friend told me that I told her that God was going to save him, but she didn’t believe me. My two sister and I got together right after I heard the news and pray from 11:50AM to 12:10PM. we worship and we all knew he was going to life. I told my friend once again his friend was going to life, but she didn’t believe me. After about 3 hours, she tells me that he is still alive the doctors who took off the life support were all crying because they have no idea how he is still alive. he is breath even tho he has not awake. me and my 3 sisters were probably the only ones in the world the believe he would be fine when not even his own mother did. I am just so happy that he is alive now. I told my friend to tell him to testify, but she said he probably won’t because no one is his family is Christian apparently. I am just so happy that God used my to save this guy I don’t even know!!!

The Wild West (Unfinished)

Convicted – A different side!

Stepping out on lighter earth
the gentle breeze intoxicating
soothing my guilty lungs
not for long though!

Shackled limbs carrying
long tired frame
to the holy gallows;
Deliverance from crime!

The distant freedom seeping in
through the culpable sores
on my fettered body

But the thoughts devoid chains
off to farther lands of amnesty!

As the knot tightens
liberation from rusty manacles
eyes mirroring vast beauty

The last wisp of life
losing crumbs of fatigue
to the grave of humility!
